• MARC ANTONY have departed on their final journey. They will be touring the entire US, parts of Canada, Mexico, and Alaska. They booked their 2-month tour in a matter of weeks so please help them out if you can on scheduled no-shows (www.marcantony.org). They are an amazing group of people and their musical style and energy is second to no other. MARC ANTONY, in many ways, totally epitomize what I believe a band should be: raw, intelligent, challenging, and spontaneous. These guys got DIY tattooed on their bones. They rekindled a part of me that was lethargic with music and life; most of all, they reminded me to pack my bags, hit the road and yell “fuck it.” I encourage people to do the same and experience them for the last of times.

It’s disturbing enough to watch a monkey get re-inaugurated, but now this shit too? A great unit has suddenly put their magic to sleep way too early.For the unfortunate who’ve missed out, Piano Drag had a special way of connecting with people musically. There was something intense about them that drew people in. They made a room really FEEL, even when hitting the most subtle and simplest of sounds. Their recordings only captured a fraction of their live energy and sonance. They definitely unleashed a part of me that wanted to contribute to the sharing of music. They were a major influence in how ethospine came into existence. Piano Drag will be missed.
Keep an ear out for new projects. John is laying drum tracks for REDCELLONE with Sean engineering.

Jesus Makes The Shotgun Sound will be recording this week with Mr. Pete X for what is scheduled to be a DECEMBER release. According to various marketing strategists DECEMBER is absolutely the worst month to put out a record. Supposedly, it is also the worst time to tour. Hmmmm. So, a short tour with DOGS OF IRE is in the works also. Supposedly.
Red Cell One will also have some music with us. New material too. They have been recording at the P-Drag house for some time. Sean P-Drag is handling the knobs this time. Heard good things. Let us expect a release this winter.

The real screen-printed ones will be made in the next couple of weeks. New ordering information for all music along with other features of this neglected site will be up and running sometime soon too. I know baby, I know. We failed to post the Piano Drag show at 51 Buckingham in Pomona due to sheer lameness. For those of you who went, you know how they lit that place up already. And as usual. The best of vibes from a momentous unit.

I'm Annie Knight, a library science student and zine publisher, and I'm working on creating a database for the zine archives at San Diego State Universities library. I am contacting California zine distros so that our archive can continue to grow with new zines being published in California. In doing this, we will be working towards our goal of representing as many voices and views in our archive as possible pertaining to California zinesters. But most of all, it is important for zine publishers to have their zines cataloged into libraries so that independent voices are continuing to be preserved and represented in the public and other spheres of influence like that of universities.

Circuit Scarecrows 7" is being pressed and there are final touch ups being made to the artwork and packaging. We know the wax was promised in November. Yes, we lied to you all. But it's only for your own good my dearest of friends. This, you must believe. It's best you not know why. Just believe. "Reports that say something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns - the ones we don't know we don't know." - Donald Rumsfeld. · Some DOGS OF IRE/Piano Drag dates are posted, but there are a couple shows still being worked on. Don't be shy. Maybe we can drive to your town. We actually love to work directly with the people we play for. Oh my gawwwwd…so passé!

RADIOHEAD LOOPHOLE COMPETITION - circuit scarecrow submitted a track to a www.radiohead.com song-making contest. "Hung like a Rabbit, Fuck like a Horse" was chosen among 19 others to be displayed on their website through the month of October. Go to www.radiohead.com and click on "loophole" to hear the winners' submissions.
